Case 2

A 16-week-old child is alerted to ED with cyanosis and shock. The child is known to have a diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot and is awaiting surgical correction. The childs mother is concerned as she has noticed that his hands, feet and tongue turned blue following a bath and he seemed to become excessively drowsy. Saturations on an ABG are 84%. You diagnose the child with a hypercyanotic “tet spell”.
