Impetigo is diagnosed clinically [1-4]. However, consider swabbing for culture and sensitivities in the following:
- Suspected MRSA – take swab from under crusts
- Recurrent episodes – swab anterior nares, possibly axillae/perineum
- Infected eczema – wet-swab inflamed areas
