Guidelines
This session is based largely on two evidence-based guidelines by the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) [1] together with other groups in 2007 and by the Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) in 2002 [2].
There are NICE guidelines on falls [3] and on thromboprophylaxis [4].
