A 68-year-old man presents to the Emergency Department (ED) following a fall. He says he has felt lethargic and feverish for 2 days. He is complaining of lower abdominal discomfort and nausea. He has a long term urinary catheter for benign prostatic hypertrophy having declined surgery.
On examination he has suprapubic tenderness and is mildly dehydrated.
The nurse is very concerned about the colour of his catheter bag.
