Hip Examination

A 14-year-old footballer is brought in by paramedics. Whilst shooting at goal, he felt an intense pop in his left hip, followed by a sudden shooting pain. He now has restricted active motion and is unable to walk.

You suspect that he may have sustained an Apophyseal Avulsion Fracture of his hip and want to perform a thorough examination of the patients hip to guide your management plan. You intend to present a summary of this case to your senior afterwards.
