You are working in the Paediatric Emergency Department (ED) and you see a 12-year-girl following a collapse whilst playing football. She had a brief loss of consciousness for 20 seconds and recovered quickly. She had no chest pain, no palpitations and had been well recently.
Her observations are as follows:
Heart Rate 72 beats per minute
Respiratory Rate 14 breaths per minute
Blood pressure 100/70 mmHg
Oxygen saturations 100% on room air
Temperature 36.0 degrees Celsius
She is normally fit and well. She does not take any medications.
Your examination is unremarkable.
