Clinical Case

You review Jenny, an 87-year-old with no immediate family who has been brought in by ambulance as a neighbour was concerned that he hadn’t seen her in three days. She has a background of dementia and breast cancer and has been admitted to the hospital three times in the past year with chest and/or urosepsis.

When you review her, she is thin, febrile, confused and hypotensive, with symptoms and signs again consistent with urosepsis.
