A 20-year-old female with known asthma presents to your Emergency Department with worsening breathlessness and wheeze.
She has been using her home inhalers but they dont seem to be helping her today. The paramedics have given her nebulisers.
Her initial observations on arrival are:
- Oxygen saturations 91% on room air
- Respiratory rate 28 breaths per minute
- Heart Rate 118 beats per minute
She is moved to Resus and started on emergency treatments. The resus nurse has applied capnographic monitoring.
